KHORA:
a space that gives place for being
A retreat for yoga & movement teachers
Thursday 16th—Sunday 19th April 2026
Yoga and movement teachers, this one's for you!
Join me for 4 days and 3 nights at a beautiful country home in the village of Norton St. Phillips, just 20 minutes away from Bath. Harnessing the sweet potential of spring, let’s plant some potent seeds of intention together.
We’ll share twice daily practices and nourishing meals, co-creating a space for learning & teaching in community.
An opportunity to delve into the why of what you share, gain clarity in where you want to take your teaching next & rest into the support of your peers.
Asana practices will be shared in a nearby village hall just 5 mins away to ensure we can take up lots of space.
The structure of our days will be co-created based on the group that gathers, but our time together will include:
silent mornings, meditation & morning pages to start the day
extended asana pracitces
informal sessions exploring your ‘why’, sharing challenges & dreaming ways of sustainably sharing your offering
collective dreaming and rest
time to slow down, read a book, be in nature
a few surprises along the way!
If we haven’t practiced together before, I’d recommend a vibe check & joining me at one of my public classes!
What to expect
About the house
We’ll be staying in a Grade II listed home in the heart of Norton Saint Phillip, gathering for meals together in a warm communal dining space. We’ll have 2 lounges to rest in and soak up views of the gorgeous garden and beyond.
If the weather gods are kind we’ll enjoy a night by the firepit or have breakfast outside and soak up the fresh countryside air. A wood fireplace will keep things cosy if it gets chilly.
The property dates back to the 1500s, please reach out with any access needs or concerns before booking.
About the food
Over the moon to be joined by chef & author Sophie Gordon who will be nourishing our bodies and minds. Think platters of eggs, yoghurt, granola and homemade bread to start the day, an abundant seasonal feast for dinner with generous afternoon snacks in-between.
Sophie is an absolute gem of a human and her food is incredible! Fellow coeliac pals, you will be catered for, along with any other dietary restrictions.
About the word
‘Khora’ is a greek word described by Plato as ‘a container of becoming’, a space or vessel for potential to cultivate.
It felt like the perfect word to describe what I hope this experience creates space for - a moment to pause and rest into the infinite potential of you.
What’s included?
2 extended practices per day, plus workshops + suggested activites
’Show + Tell’ - an opportunity to share your teaching & receive guidance in a supportive environment
Accomodation for 3 nights
Nourishing family-style vegetarian/vegan meals by Soph Gordon
Communal dreaming & space to rest
Whatsapp community group pre-arrival to share ideas & make connections
Q&A ꩜
-
It’s something inbetween, a container for connection and growth.
My dream for this space is one of co-creation and collaboration, where we can learn from and with each other.
Every teacher has a unique voice and offering - this is a celebration of what fills you with joy! -
In Teaching to Transgress, bell hooks writes about the holistic classroom as a space where teachers grow and feel empowered by the process. “The empowerment cannot happen if we refuse to be vulnerable while students take risks”.
One of our afternoon sessions will be for ‘Show and Tell’, an informal workshop space to share and receive. It could be a new way of sequencing you’re keen to test out, a new practice you’re shy to share, language you’re trying to cultivate or something to navigate. There’s no pressure to share, and also, why not eh!
-
No, sorry! This is a space for teachers - whether you’re newly qualified, on a break, have taught one class or a thousand.
If you’re not a teacher & looking to land softly into 2026, Soft Landings might be the retreat for you ☁️
-
Yes! The practices I share will predominantly be asana based - there’ll be somatic enquiry, rest practices, meditation and mixed-movement. If you’re into any of the above, this is for you! If you’re not sure, join me for a class before you book.
